Owner and designer for The London landscaping Company Billy Clarke, has a background in Design Engineering and music. He established the London Landscaping Company in 2001 based in East Dulwich SE22, building an impressive portfolio of work. I love it when an opportunity arises when client wants to do something different. This garden design in East Dulwich SE22 London was influenced as is our clients by modern trends and contemporary design both in garden design, interior design and architecture. This East Dulwich garden belonged to a very creative chef, and food stylist who required a place to work with and in that reflected her passion for Eastern, Mediterranean and Moroccan dishes. For this east Dulwich garden design we experimented in creating the right textured and coloured render then distressed the edges to create the required aged, aware that we were not creating a contemporary looking space.

A recently finished contemporary garden design Chelsea Sw3, with 2 main definitive social spaces and subtle compartmentalisation. The main premise for this Chelsea garden design and build project, was to extend from the interior, creating an outdoor room; or rooms to be more precise. We wanted the garden design to relate to interior and rear extension architecture, and to extend into the garden creating two separate spaces with different functions but still to have a unity throughout. The immediate sawn Portland stone lower landing, to the rear of the house ties into the Portland stone facade of the extension, creating the link between house and garden.

Forest Hill lives up to its name. And we took a chunk out of this one. This garden design Forest Hill Se23 was in much need of space at the rear of house, as it had no patio area or social space. The existing garden retaining wall for the only 1 m from the house made the interior feel cramped with the garden right on top of the living space. The object was to create a a lower courtyard garden opening the lower area. This project was going to be a real hard landscaping build with cast steel reinforced retaining walls and foundations.

A contemporary garden design Wandsworth SW18,w as a low maintenance family garden, designed and built on a budget. For me good garden design is also being able to work with smaller budgets, making the right choices, putting the money where it best needed, listening to the client and delivering a quality well built garden. The generous hardwood Balau deck and artificial lawn make good social spaces also maximising the gardens sense of space. Low maintenance was a key issue, as who has time for gardening with three young children.

A simple, well balanced garden design in Clapham SW4 with both formal and contemporary garden design elements. The terrace, a Balau hardwood deck, extends the interior creating a greater sense of space for both interior and exterior. This works fantastically well with smaller gardens extending the interior creating the outdoor room. Level change is important here to create continuity and decisions have to be made to have material change or not.
