Summit Landscapes has been providing high-quality work across all disciplines of hard and soft landscaping in and around Cambridgeshire and Essex since 2003. We have a combined experience of 45 years working for both commercial and domestic customers; consequently, this makes us one of the most experienced landscapers in Cambridge and gives us the wealth of experience to face any challenge. This pre-construction phase is very important to achieve a perfect finish. Anna Gordon-Smith is our in-house designer for landscaping Cambridge and the surrounding areas. Having worked with us since 2012, Anna has a vast wealth of experience in garden design. The design process goes as follows: Anna (and/or one of our surveyors) will visit you at your property.

Summit Landscapes bought out a large Cambridge fencing contractor in 2012 and have contracts with housing developers in commercial, residential and equestrian sectors. We educate our customers on the best materials and methods to use to make the most informed decisions. Spending an extra 10% on materials can make the fence last years longer. For example, when installing feather edge boards, we always use 4" posts and 4" x 2" timbers for the rails because these last longer than the standard 3" rails.

Summit Landscapes have also completed groundworks and surfacing for dentist practices, local schools, language schools, nurseries and offices. We work closely with many local builders, architects and self-build domestic property developers. Concealed sprinklers that pop-up out of the ground or lawn have decreased massively in price over the last decade, and in some smaller gardens, it only takes one or two sprinkler heads to take care of business.

Summit Landscapes are experts in surfacing and offer the same bespoke service and design-orientated approach to all of our driveways. Some of our customers contact us for a repair or to maintain an existing surface; this could be because it has worn out due to its age, has become a victim of subsidence or was just badly installed in the first place.

Summit Landscapes aims to offer our customers a complete landscaping service and provide any type of garden structure that you may want. Fire pits are a great way for you and your family and friends to stay out in the garden late into the evening after the sun has gone down and it has got cold. Summit Landscapes excavate deep below our fire pits so that any rainwater drains away, leaving it perfect for the next time you use it.

Whether you are using it for entertaining, relaxing or al fresco dining, style and function are built into every one of our patios. We believe in building our patios to the absolute highest standard so all our paved surfaces lasts a lifetime. 1) We properly prepare a base of deep foundations with or without a geotextile membrane (depending on the local soil). This eliminates any subsidence of the slabs. 2 We mix a solid mortar to use beneath the slabs to binds them in place; this stops all movement and any unsightly rings or watermarks that may appear on porous materials, such as sandstone or limestone.

We can revitalise your existing lawn with seeding and some T.L.C., or we can strip it, level it, and lay down a brand new lawn using fresh, green turf. One of the hardest things in effective garden design is putting together great planting schemes. Very few people have the proper knowledge or skill to do this; regularly, we see customers opt to do this part of their landscaping project themselves to keep costs down - often with disastrous results. Our experienced garden designers have been working with plants in Cambridge for many years. They therefore not only know which plants will do well in the sun and in the shade, but also how large each plant will grow as they mature, allowing the correct spacing between plants.
