Prentice Glass Limited is a family run business that has been established since 1951. With continued expansion and relocation to larger premises, the company is now located in South London and has the ability to serve both domestic and commercial properties nationwide. Our company provides a comprehensive range of glass and glazing services. We still undertake all standard glazing works but pride ourselves on the provision of more specialist works. Our affiliation with the Glass and Glazing Federation shows that we operate within a well respected organisation which promotes the highest quality and service to its clients through the 'customer charter'.

Double glazing is now compulsory fitting in any new residential construction such as replacement entry doors. Due to the Industry Standards Prentice Glass has a fully equipped workshop with all necessary machinery - allowing us to create sealed double glazed units to comply with government legislation (Document L). We can advise on make-up of double glazed windows which will suit any glazing location. Variations may include textured, patterned, coloured, laminated, Commercial Overhead Door Installation or toughened glass.

The demand for ‘all-glass' assemblies are increasing with contemporary design. One such assembly is the ‘all-glass' balustrade. Balustrades are generally used to "protect a change in level" to prevent people from falling. These structures are therefore specifically controlled by BS6180:1999 and approved by ‘Document K' of the Building Regulations. Every Prentice Glass assembly is tailored in accordance to your specific technical requirements. BS6262 and approved ‘Document N' identify critical locations in general terms only, and set the minimum standards of glazing materials acceptable for use in these areas.

As a FENSA Registered Business we have inspections on installations to ensure that our work meet domestic Building Regulations and standards. This ensures that our work is fitted to the highest possible standard and that certification of installation can be provided from the governing body of FENSA.

Like many interior design structures, glass is fast becoming increasingly popular with contemporary design. A relatively recent trend is the installation of ‘splash backs'. These may replace tiles in a kitchen or bathroom, or even just provide a new clean surface to any wall desired. They may be manufactured from pre-manufactured glass purpose built for the use of wall cladding; however the problem with such a product is restrictions in colour range. The other method more widely used is by painting the back of the cut and processed glass to the desired colour.
