Powerflushing is a method of cleaning out the pipework in your central heating system, in order to remove the sludge, slime, and other debris that habitually builds up inside any closed water system. Water is forced through your central heating system at low pressure, but high speed, sometimes with a mobilising or cleansing agent added to it for greater efficacy. This rapid flow of water breaks up any blockages found in the system, whilst protecting the pipes themselves, ejecting any deposits at the other end.

At Gasteam, we take safety seriously when dealing with gas and plumbing, for the protection of our customers and our staff, including our engineers who are all officially qualified to carry out inspections for gas safety. In the UK, it is a legal requirement for landlords to ensure all gas appliances and systems are checked thoroughly at least once a year, and this law has been in place for over 20 years. The landlord must have a gas safety certificate confirming the results of the most recent check, which we at Gasteam are qualified to provide.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is a severe health risk which can prove fatal if adequate care is not taken to maintain or repair gas appliances. Your boiler must be checked regularly by a qualified professional to ensure it is functioning without putting you or anyone else in danger. This should be done annually at the very least to minimise the risk of breakdowns or dangerous gas leaks. What's more, an annual service can save you as much 10-15% off your household energy bills*.
