This method will not give you the instant result you get from a newly turfed lawn, but what we do however is to re-invigorate and improve your existing lawn. If your lawn has lots of bare patches, and weeds and moss have taken hold of at least 25% of your lawn then renovation is the most cost effective way for you to have a great lawn. If your lawn has up to 50% weed and moss infestation and the soil is very compact then you may need to think of starting over and have a new lawn laid either from seed or turf.
Soil has a tendency to compact, causing the soil particles get pushed closer together by heavy rainfall or traffic on the surface. This makes it difficult for the moisture and gases that are essential for grass development to flow freely through the soil to the roots and surface and leads to poor root development. Compaction has a serious imapct on your Lawn causing a reduction in the amount of air held in the root zone. It inhibits drainage which causes shallow root growth and this will reduce the drought resistance of the grass, making it more prone to disease.

In addition, don't be afraid to give the lawn a light HIGH topping on a dry day anytime over winter to keep it looking tidy.
