We have full public and employers liability insurance appropriate to the nature of our work and are qualified in the use of pesticides and herbicides. We have specialists in interior and exterior landscape maintenance. These are very different disciplines so it pays to have people who understand each specialty. The amount of work carried out varies according to weather and time of year, so we issue itemised invoices with balances that are carried forward. We use traditional gardening skills and over thirty years of experience to bring the best out of any garden.

Shrubs that are intended to be hedges, if cut well, can have just as much impact as flowering plants. A neatly cut hedge with crisp edges offers an attractive contrast, complementing the less formal planting in the garden. Many different types shrubs can be used to form a hedge and they need different types of maintenance to get the best from them. Some hedges can even be killed if cut in the wrong way or at the wrong time of year. Another common example of bad hedge cutting we see all too often is the top of the hedge being cut wider than the base fig.

When one thinks of a manicured lawn, one has a vision of neat stripes leading up to the big house; we even use this image on our logo. However, it is not good practice, for the long-term health of the lawn, to keep cutting it in the same direction week after week. Along with badly cut hedges, it is common to see lawns cut in this way. This is done either out of ignorance or as a time saving measure. At Harradine Garden Services we try to cut lawns in least two directions and up to five directions in some cases.

We are professional, qualified and very experienced gardeners and as such offer an expert gardening service. We supply all tools and consumables such as weed killers and fertilizers to look after your garden and we take away any garden waste we produce. We are not to be confused with handymen or oddjobbers who will often lack the skills and equipment to properly look after your garden. You will not be asked to get anything in for us to use or be left with half a dozen heavy bags of green waste to put out for the recycling collection.
