Our team of concrete finishers recently completed this concrete flooring installation for an industrial project in Cambridge, on behalf of Marbank Construction Ltd. The project required 6,107m2 of concrete in total, covering a ground floor slab, mezzanine floor and undercroft. As the concrete floor needed to be of industrial strength, we reinforced the 155mm thick concrete with a layer of A142 mesh laid onto a fully sealed lapped and tapped gas membrane. The use of reinforcing mesh greatly improves the durability and compressive strength of the concrete floor, whilst the installation of a gas membrane helps to prevent harmful gases migrating from the ground soil, through the concrete and into the establishment.

Nationwide Concreting recently carried out an 11,000m2 concrete flooring project on behalf of Brymor Construction for their client Rich Foods. The job consisted of a 1,100m2 first floor and a 10,000m2 ground floor, both cast in 1000m2 bays that will form a new production warehouse. As part of the job, we installed an Isedio shield joint, 130 metres around the dock levellers in preparation for the concrete pour at 225mm thickness. The project took eleven days for the Nationwide Concreting team - four workers to prep and lay rebar/mesh and a further six-strong team to pour the concrete, which consisted of eleven pours.
