And consequently it doesn't last as long. A 6mm laminate would last around 2/3 years and 8mm surface perhaps 12-15 years and a 9.5mm laminate up to 20-25 years. Criterion supply and fit both commercial and domestic carpets. Carpets can be a more economic choice than wood but we would not recommend an 'economy' carpet. A cheap carpet will generally deteriorate and look flat and old with in 2 years. This is because the tufts are not tight enough.in a more expensive carpet ie 18-30 a meter thetufts are closer together it will weigh around 40oz and will cope much better with heavy domestic traffic and keep its colour and shape.
Wood flooring looks beautiful in a lounge or living room it provides drama and helps unify the design of both rooms if wood flooring is used throughout. Wood flooring is practical and because it is much easier to eradicate dust it is often a healthy more allergenic option too. In Kitchens and bathrooms wood flooring looks fantastic too but their are practical considerations too. Obviously in a bathroom there are likely to be water spillages so it is important that the wood flooring is properly fitted and well sealed.
An existing concrete flooring should be entirely flat. An uneven floor will need to be screeded or ply board laid ( WBP Waterproofed ply board) to ensure thesurface is completely flat. The under flooring will determine how stable the floor is underfoot. For example a solid wood floor bonded to a screeded sub floor will provide a stable surface, permanent under foot with better accoustics. It is bonded with adhesive, which provides a water proof layer to prevent any damp from beneath affecting the wood flooring.
European Oak, Douglas Fir and American Black Walnut-available in up to 220mm width boards. Bordeaux is 100% European grown oak and manufactured in Europe to a very high specification. A 6mm top layer lamella is bonded to 100% birch ply and surface machined on both faces to ensure a consistent 20.5mm thickness. Criterion Flooring supply engineered wood flooring which provides stability and can be installed over under floor heating. Engineered wood is manufactured with multi layers both laterally and vertically sandwiched together with a solid Oak veneer on top.
