NH Flooring

NH Flooring is a family run firm based in the Yorkshire Dales, set up by Managing Director and Yorkshire man, Nick Hodges. Nick has been in the flooring industry all his working life after snapping up an opportune side step on completion of his studies in architecture. He has a wealth of knowledge in flooring and the floor laying industry and is a FITA trained NICF approved contractor. In 2010 Nick made the choice to set up his own business and thus NH Flooring was born. Having sensed a gap in the market for a flooring company focused on quality and service rather than the usual impersonal flooring warehouses, NH Flooring offer a home sampling service and advice and an installation service believed to be second to non in the area.

After many years of using different flooring products, we have selected a range of flooring materials which, in our opinion, are of the highest quality and offer the best value for money. Choosing a new floor covering can take a lot of time and thought. So with this in mind you can make use of our experience and knowledge to help narrow down your search. We also offer a home sampling service, and can arrange to bring a wide range of samples to your home, giving you the opportunity to see the products in your own lighting and environment.

A great product for its ease of installation. Available in a range of wood or tile effect designs, it offers a good alternative to some higher priced products. Some great designs and surface finishes can make this type of floor covering look like the real thing.

There are various different carpet options out there and it can be quite baffling which one is best for your room and lifestyle. Below is a brief overview of what we think is best and for where. Of course, we are always on hand to offer any advice you need too. One of my favourite products, great for areas of high traffic such as hallways, stairs, lounges and snugs. Wool carpets are predominantly comprised of wool blends with one of the most popular ratios being 80% pure wool to 20% either polypropylene or a nylon mix, hence known as an 80:20 wool mix.

In addition to our residential floor coverings, we also offer an extensive range of contract flooring for use in offices, schools, surgeries, care homes etc. This includes carpet tiles and rubber backed roll carpet, heavy duty vinyls and vinyl tiles and heavy duty entrance matting. Not only are these options available in a variety of colours and textures but they can also be used to create some really unique and eye catching designs where required.

We have a comprehensive range of solid wood and engineered products on display in our showroom. Engineered wood flooring is constructed from a thick veneer of hardwood (a popular choice being oak) which is adhered to a wood block base. It is ideal for high use areas and is also compatible with underfloor heating. It comes in a variety of options from a selection of board widths, colours and finishes. It creates a fantastic natural and warm feeling to a room and has an excellent life span. Solid wood flooring again comes in a variety of options and gives some spectaular finishes from the flowering in the grain.

A firm family favourite. You might know it as "Cushion flooring" (an old trade name for one particular brand) or "Lino" which is actually slightly different to most of todays general vinyl flooring options. Vinyl flooring is a brilliant budget friendly and low maintenance option for all those hard working rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms, boot rooms and even work rooms. It is warm underfoot, nowadays offers some really practical non slip finishes and comes in a wealth of designs and colour options from wood and tile effect to bright colours and geometric patterns.

You may have heard of Amtico or Karndean but you are not totally sure exactly what they are? These are popular manufacturers of luxury vinyl tiles. A man made alternative to wooden flooring and stone tiles. There are also many other manufacturers out there such as Moduleo, Cavalio and Bevel Line. Luxury vinyl tiles are a hard wearing and versatile product which are easy to maintain and look really stunning. The wood effect options are particularly realistic and we have regular reports back from clients telling us that their friends and family don't believe that their floors are not the real thing.
